Throughout a woman’s life, hormones can create a wide variety of changes – from menstrual cramps and irregularity and PMS symptoms, to Pregnancy and Post Partum to menopause or issues like endometriosis or polycystic ovarian disease. These conditions and imbalances can cause physical pain, emotional stress and general discomfort.

Perimenopause and Menopause

Menopause is a natural occurrence and an important time for Self Care and helping the nervous system to regulate.

Perimenopause is the menopause transition, and begins several years before menopause. The ovaries gradually begin to make less estrogen. It usually starts in 40s, but some women start to experience symptoms or signs as early as their 30s or even earlier. Perimenopause lasts up until menopause when the ovaries stop releasing eggs.

Acupuncture greatly supports the symptoms women encounter during these times at physical, emotional and mental levels .  As hormones fluctuate and less estrogen is available in the body it’s not uncommon for women to experience digestive issues including nausea, acid reflux and bloating, , migraines, fatigue, irritability, insomnia as well as night sweats and hot flashes.

There are a lot of things Women can do to support themselves in pre and post Menopausal transitions. Acupuncture is a gentle, natural, non-evasive and effective way to deal with the symptoms of menopause.
