What Types of Essential Oils Are Used?
We use a wide variety of oils and customize the treatment. Some of the names you will recognize like Lavender, Peppermint and Mandarin and others may be new to you such as Marjoram and Cedar wood Atlas. Regardless of the oils, the combos always produce the most amazing smelling treatment rooms. Even with the masks we can smell them we discovered in 2020.
AAT was developed by Peter Holmes in the early 1990s and is based on the sensory fragrance qualities of essential oils. Peter has dedicated his career to the knowledge and sourcing of Essential Oils and has a wonderful high quality line of oils called Snow Lotus from which we choose most of them.
Can you do the treatment with or without acupuncture?
Yes AAT lends itself as a stand-alone treatment and also combines well with Acupuncture or Energy Work. We use some of the oil combos in many of our Acupuncture treatments.
How is AAT Treatments done?
During an Aroma Acupoint treatment a drop of an essential oil is lightly applied to the acupoint with a finger or cotton swab and held in place for a short amount of time. The practitioner will select one or more treatment sequences or patterns that typically involve activating between three and eight points
How Does Aroma Acupoint Therapy™ Work?
Protocols are created specifically for therapeutic affect. Oils and points related to your issue are chosen. Essential oils have the ability to stimulate points in a similar way as needles.
From Snow Lotus one theory is that “the oils are able to activate peptides connected with the points that, through the meridian energy pathways, transmit the suggested action to specific target tissues, organs, and so on. The simplest explanation, however, is the universal principle of reciprocal resonance. Oils and points possessing a similar quality and function will energetically resonate with each other and so create a particular sonic vibration or frequency”.
